I have experience in cellular, two-way, wireless, computers and networking. I owned and operated two local stores.I have experience in project appropriations as well as directing field personnel. I have experience in running budgets of projects, I have sales experience. I have several years of experience supervising personnel, to include scheduling and duty activities.
Education
I have 87 credit hours and Fire Science and Emergency Medical studies taken at Mid Michigan Community College.
Professional Experience
Two-Way Radio. I have experience two-way for over 30 years. I an knowledgeable of repeaters, base, mobile and handheld radio units and systems. I am familiar with the AVL and the general principles of its operation. I understand mobile data structures and concepts. I understand the radio spectrum, differences of frequency ranges. I have experience in radio programming. I can troubleshoot equipment problems.
Computers and Networks. I have experience in computers and troubleshooting computers. I have a basic understanding of networking wired and wireless. I am familiar with data transfer and storage. I have experience in creating and maintaining web pages.
Project Management. I have experienced in project management with three different employers. One was with Old Orchard Park there I managed multiple projects and supervised personnel. I did scheduling and handled personnel issues. The other employer was AuSable Valley Emergency Management, with this employer I worked on grants, equipment acquisition, bidding, budgeting, and reporting. I also assisted in setting up and deployment of training exercises. Ivado I have done tower acquisition; site surveys and regional sales force organization.
Sales. I have several years of and sales both inside and out. The inside sales experience was when I had my stores. The outside sales experience was with Sterling Cellular a CellularOne company. We were responsible for telemarketing and creation of all sales leads. I handled a three county area for sales as well as service. I was top sales several months. I continue to stay on top of the wireless industry and carriers on a daily basis.
Community Service and a Volunteer Service. I am a member of the Oscoda Township Fire Department; I have been in the Fire Service since 1975. In that time I have always given extra. I built them a web page. In 2002 I invested approximately 100 hours of my own time to write a federal grant for our department. We were successful in acquiring $180,000.00 For equipment upgrades and technology upgrades for our department. In 2003 I wrote another grant. I wasn’t Successful that year. In 2004 I wrote another grant for 75,000.00 and was successful. I was responsible for bidding and acquisition as well as reporting. This also included budget management. Oscoda Area First Responders. I am the vice president of this organization is a nonprofit organization of emergency medical personnel that respond to incidents prior to the county emergency medical services arrival. I was one of the people that help start organize the service.
Committees and Boards. I served over 10 years on the Huron Medical Control Board. This is a hospital board that oversees emergency medical services in Iosco County. I served as the president of the Iosco County Firefighters Association. This is an organization with representatives from each department in our county that raises money and organizes training for firefighters in our county as well as surrounding counties. Iosco County 911 Technical Advisory committee. There are two committees there One for medical and one for fire. We recommend operational and procedural items in regards to the county dispatch center.
My business, public safety, political, and personal contacts, are a huge asset to any project. I have worked hard to maintain a high level of integrity.
